The Ceremony...
The Details...
Everything was simple and elegant, ivory for the tables, white covers for the chairs with ivory chiffon bows, cream and white flowers everywhere and lots of candles. We had the flute quartet playing fabulous music - a mix of classical music and well known Gershwin, Cole Porter tunes. I wanted a different feel in each of the three areas in the venue with twinkly lights and candles - all very romantic.
As you enter the venue there were flaming torches and the entrance was ivory covered walls with a black ceiling with twinkly lights like stars. The venue is well appointed - it has the marquee area with a beautiful vine and across the ceiling - this was set up for dinner, ivory walls, the ivy and lots of twinkly lights, there were tea lights on all of the tables and of course the beautiful flowers. It has a very intimate and has a Mediterranan / Italian feel.
The ceremony was held in the main club room, chairs were set up with an aisle down the middle for us to make our entrance and exit and the registrar managed the ceremony between the topiary trees with the candles around us. There was no table between us throughout the civil service to keep it intimate and personal.
