Ideas for my Ivory, Orange and Brown Wedding FlowersQ
I am getting married in November of this year. After getting engaged I almost immediately decided that I want the girls to wear Antique gold. Well they (10 of them) are wearing Rum which is an iridescent shade of gold. I have decided to go with bouquets mixed with ivory, orange, yellow and a shade of brown flowers and roses. I have been having nightmares about my choice and I need to get a professional's opinion as to if I made a good choice. I feel like my florist will say yes to what ever I pick. Please Help!!!" I think the colour palette you've selected sounds lovely. Without knowing exactly how the fabric iridesces (some iridescent fabrics show completely different colours under light) I would say that ivory, yellow, orange and brown flowers would look great. Not sure if you've considered flower selection yet, but there's some amazing looking brown freeze dried roses available now, along with some lovely brown hypericum berries. Certainly lots to choose from in ivory, yellow and orange. Expert Advice From: Firstly let me congratulate you on a wonderful choice of colours. It is so nice to see some of the more Autumnal shades used in this way. If you are wanting a mixture of roses for your bouquet then I can recommend a combination of Vendella (cream), Milva (pale Orange) and Sphinx (yellow/gold) roses. Other flowers available at the time include: Creams: Eustoma, Calla Lily and Asiatic Freesia, Carnation, Gerbera, and stocks. Orange: Gerbera, Freesias, Tulips, Carnations, Calla Lily and Asiatic Lily, Carthamus and Asclepias and Yellows: Gerbera, Freesias, Carnation, Craspedia, Calla Lily and Asiatic Lily, Tulips, Cymbidium Orchids. The brown flowers are much harder to source. If your wedding is at the beginning of November you may be lucky and get some of the last Chocolate Cosmos, which are a wonderful deep brown flower. You can also get paler brown Anthurriums. I would suggest though that you add the brown to the arrangements by adding hypericum berries to the bouquets. This can make a lovely mix with the flowers and create a stunning visual effect. You should be able to get a lovely mixture of colours and textures. Expert Advice From: Shades of Red, could be Grand Prix Roses or Hypericum berries, Orange you could use Mango Calla Lilies ,Yellow, freesias or Cymbidium Orchids and then to add the brown you could use beads & wire to the finished bouquet with brown organza ribbons.
