Romantic Roses with a Red and Purple Theme

Q

I am in love with the idea of traditional romantic red roses for my wedding, and my dress is ivory. The problem is, the bridesmaids were supposed to wear lilac and the maid of honour deep purple. Can you offer alternative suggestions that are still classic and romantic but fit well with this colour scheme?

A

Red and deep purple can be a wonderful colour scheme together. As they are opposite each other on the colour spectrum they are a complementary colouring. Consider using Passion roses with deep ‘Cadbury’ purple Lisianthus in either a shower or hand tied bouquet arrangement.

A

Initially it does seem that red roses, lilac and  purple wouldn't be the most appealing colour combination however there are ways of making it work. Beautiful deep red Grand Prix roses look stunning with deep purple lisianthus, especially when lifted with some bright green hypericum berries and various foliage. This combination would work really well for you and your maid of honour. Then you could have the lisianthus, berries and maybe lilac freesia for the bridesmaids.
