Chocolate and Gold Theme for my Wedding

I am getting married in September and my bridesmaids are in gold with a chocolate brown sash. Any ideas on what colour flowers they could have? Ideally I would like to stay away from orange...any ideas?

Orange is an obvious colour to go with brown and  gold, especially in September but given that you would like to avoid it ... creams are always a safe bet. Other colours that would work with your colour scheme may be burgundy, pink, rust, yellow, purple and light blue, depending on the shade of brown you're using.

Bringing the brown and gold into your flowers is another option, which you could do with feathers, berries, decorative wire and beads.

It is a shame about your last sentence as there are some wonderful orange flowers around at that time of year, but you could go a few ways with your colour scheme. You could have a colour scheme to echo their colouring with cream and brown using cream roses, something like vendella, and brown hypericum berries or chocolate cosmos if it is available.

Alternatively you could go for a strong gold yellow and use flowers like gold sphinx roses, Craspedia and gold cymbidium orchids.

I would shy away from calla lilies in September as the price is higher at that time of year or use them sparingly. You could also have a burgundy colour scheme using rich red roses or the early season ranunculas.

Gerberas in an Ivory colour with a brown centre in a loose hand tied style would fit in well. You could bind the stems with a gold ribbon . Ivory roses  with chocolate cosmos and gold beargrass is another option.

If you wanted a more Autumnal feel,  Grand prix Red Roses or Cream Lisianthus with Hypericum berries and Ivy.  Sunflowers would also lend themselves to this theme.
