Amanda wore an ivory dress which was strapless, tight fitting, beaded on the bodice and had a train which was perfectly plain. "I went shopping with my bridesmaid in St Albans and we tried on lots but this was the one that had the WOW factor". Amanda wanted to achieve a sophisticated look for the day, inspired by Audrey Hepburn "I had two great girls come along to the priory and do my make up and hair which they managed beautifully. My makeup was very natural and my hair looked terrific and very different." The wedding theme was a rich red inspired by the romantic roses David had sent Amanda during the first week they met and also sparkly things because of their wonderful engagement ring. Amanda's bouquet then just had to be Grand Prix red roses with added sparkle. Amanda's lovely bridesmaid Katrina was in red which really suited her colouring. Amanda's bridesmaid Katrina carried Grand Prix roses with white spray roses echoing the diamante in Amanda's bouquet. A gorgeous red bow completed the design. David and his best man wore black morning suits with ivory waistcoats and David had a red cravat. One of Amanda's favourite memories were the memorable and moving speeches "The speeches were excellent and were given by my brother who gave me away, David and the best man. I also gave a speech which was a surprise to everyone and really took David by surprise. I had a lot to thank people for as they had given me amazing support through difficult times and it was all very emotional and brought a few tears to many eyes!"
Although Amanda and David had learnt a dance in the run up to the wedding like many couples they found this to be one of the most nerve racking parts of the day. "David and I crept downstairs to the dance floor for a practice as the steps were ok but I'd never done it in 3 inch heels and a long dress and train!" Special memories of the day included the wonderful ceremony "The ceremony was very moving and both of us wanted to cry. It was really special as we had friends do the readings and we also had a great singer who sang a few lovely romantic songs and Ave Maria. We also had a blessing which was performed by a lovely vicar called Carla." As another lovely way of capturing memories of the day Amanda and David asked their guests to sign the border of a picture frame which will be used in a framed enlarged group photograph of the guests. It just had to be Grand Prix red roses! The amazing cake was created by a friend who made individual fruit cakes for everyone. She then had them iced with our initial, hearts and the date and a larger cake was on the top of the stand covered in roses.
David and Amanda planned their wedding entirely by themselves in an incredibly short time just 7 weeks! Fortunately they had very similar ideas on what they wanted and their family were very supportive. They were thrilled that everyone they invited managed to attend even at short notice. Amanda's special moment was "Walking down the aisle and seeing David's face." The venue for Amanda and David's wedding was the fabulous Leez Priory is a magnificent Tudor mansion set in 40 acres of beautiful parkland complete with lakes, lawns and a sweeping driveway

A bouquet of fabulous Red Roses and sparkling diamonds inspired the theme for Amanda and Davids gorgeous wedding at Leez Priory

David and Amanda met speed dating in August 2005. Amanda was fashionably late and met David who was standing by the door when she arrived "We chatted while we were waiting for the event to start and the rest is history!!". The Ritz was the stylish setting for a truly romantic proposal "David took me to the Ritz for afternoon tea on my Birthday. He'd chosen the diamond for the ring a few months before and had the ring designed. It was all done in secret and when he asked me to marry him while we were having tea I was lost for words. The pianist started playing congratulations and they brought us out a special cake, all very romanitc, exciting and a real surprise!".
